Celebrating Independence Chattanooga Style

Chattanooga 4th of July Independence Day 2010 scheduleIf there’s one celebratory thing we Chattanoogans love, it’s our fireworks. From the recent Riverbend extravaganza to the upcoming Pops on the River, summer in the Scenic City means POP BOOM & POW!

Here’s the 411 on an explosive 4th of July:

Soddy Daisy: All day extravaganza at Soddy Lake including a classic car show, craft fair and vendors. Starts at 9am and goes until dark when the fireworks will begin. July 3rd – call 423-718-1735 for more information

Pops on the River: The Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra will be performing at Coolidge Park on the 3rd as well. Concert begins at 8pm with fireworks at dark:30. Bring blankets or camp chairs and prepare to hold your bladder as long as possible. If history is any indication, toilet facilities will be somewhat lacking considering the crowds that will be there. For more information call the CSO at 267-8583

Lookouts Game: We’ll wind up the weekend with the Lookouts game. Sunday July 4th, the Looks take on the Carolina Mud Cats starting at 6.15pm ending the game with a bang (and hopefully a win!). Click for more information or to buy tickets in advance.
